Miracle Spinach Mango Apple Smoothie

Miracle Smoothie

This Green Miracle Smoothie has everything you need to make it a delicious, healthy drink.

The chlorophyll will make you shine like the sun and the vitamins and minerals will boost your immune system, strengthen your bones and organs and promote weight loss, all at the same time.


Ingredients

  • 3 handfuls of organic Baby Spinach 
  • 1 organic apple. washed, unpeeled and cored
  • 1 handful of fresh organic, seedless grapes 
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen organic strawberries 
  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen organic mangos 
  • 1 cup of fresh or frozen organic pineapples 
  • 2 cups of water or coconut water 
  • 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed 

OPTIONAL

  • 1 scoop of protein powder 
  • 2 – 4 organic, whole Medjool Dates, pitted (for extra sweetness) 

Directions

Place spinach into the blender first, then the other ingredients. Lastly pour the water over everything and blend until creamy. 

Spinach

Spinach is the most vital food for the entire digestive tract. 

This includes the stomach, the duodenum, the large intestine and the colon. 

Spinach is nature’s finest source for cleansing, healing and regenerating the intestinal tract and often corrects even the most aggravated case of constipation. 

Spinach has a “Popeye” effect. Remember Popeye, the wisecracking cartoon sailor who gained superhuman strength after eating spinach?! Well, that is not far-fetched from the truth, for Spinach is rich in Vitamin K, A, E, and C, as well as a good source of manganese, folate, magnesium, copper, potassium and iron. Spinach is great for your eyes and is known to fight cancer. 

Vitamin K is so important for maintaining bone health. Iron plays an important role in keeping the red blood cells functioning correctly, which carry oxygen throughout the body.

Mango

Mango is a superfood because of its many vitamins and minerals. Their high dietary fiber helps improve digestion and since mangos are a natural fat burner, they help you lose weight. 

Mango plays a big role in giving you glowing, radiant skin. It helps form collagen, reduces wrinkles, it helps with hair growth, protects the skin from harmful sun rays and delays premature aging. 

Mango protects your eyes, your heart health and even keeps you mentally happy. 

Pineapple

Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme that helps your skin and tissues to heal and is therefore good after surgery or injury. 

Pineapple’s high bromelain content reduces your risk of blood clots, fights infections and kills bacteria, so it’s great for colds and coughs.

Pineapple helps reduce pain from arthritis because of its major anti-inflammatory properties. 

Pineapple helps prevent macular degeneration, so you can enjoy good vision even when you get older. 

Pineapple promotes heart health and the rich fiber content in pineapple supports a healthy digestive system. 

Pineapple contains a high amount of potassium, which helps stabilize your blood pressure. 

Pineapple gives you softer, shinier, and thicker hair. It will make you look and feel younger. It helps recover muscles after a workout and protects you from many diseases. 

Pineapple is a stress-buster, because it contains high amounts of serotonin, which keeps your nerves relaxed. 

On the other hand, pineapple can also keep you energized all day and help you overcome fatigue, because it will keep you hydrated for a long time.

Apple

Apples are often overlooked in the grocery store because of their constant availability. But don’t be fooled, they are incredibly nutritious and offer many health benefits. 

Apples are about 86% water and high in fiber, which helps you feel full and therefore you are less likely to overeat, and this in turn will help you maintain a healthy weight. 

Apples contain fisetin and quercetin, two powerful flavonoids that prevent Alzheimer’s and protect against memory loss. The fisetin and quercetin in apples fight oxidative stress, which prevents cancer cell growth. 

Apples contain phytochemicals which have anti-inflammatory effects in the lungs and airways, reducing asthma symptoms. 

Apples stimulate the pancreas to release insulin, which leads to lower blood sugar levels and thus helps manage diabetes. 

Apples contain pectin, a type of fiber that acts as a prebiotic that feeds the good bacteria in your gut, which is essential to your overall health and well-being.

Apples contain powerful antioxidants that keep you looking young, reduce wrinkles, and age spots. 

Apples increase blood circulation which keeps your skin toned and increases its glow. Apples make your hair shiny and protect your gums and teeth. 

Grapes

Grapes contain resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant that protects the cell structure and slows down aging

Resveratrol prevents harmful plaques from forming in the brain, and therefore helps prevent Alzheimer’s and improves overall cognitive health. 

Grapes contain melatonin, which helps you fall asleep and since they do not have a lot of calories, it’s ok to eat them as an evening snack. 

Grapes have lots of minerals like calcium, magnesium and potassium and vitamin K, which improves bone health.

Grapes balance your blood pressure and therefore lower your risk of heart disease and stroke. 

Grapes are rich in Vitamin E, which helps your skin stay hydrated and smooth. Grapes increase the blood flow to your scalp for healthier hair. 

Grapes contain a natural compound that makes it harder for cells to store fat and thus you will drop some unwanted pounds. 

Grapes are good for your eyes. They have a protective effect on the retinal structure and function, and prevent or delay cataracts and glaucoma. 

Grapes relieve you from constipation and give you softer stools, because they are full of insoluble fiber, meaning it does not dissolve in water, but attracts water into your stool, making it softer and easier to pass. Insoluble fiber promotes bowel health, regularity and helps your digestive system. 

Grapes are a good fruit if you have diabetes, because grapes have a low glycemic index, meaning they don’t raise your blood sugar too quickly.

Grapes are a a great cancer defense. The antioxidants in grapes delay or prevent the growth of cancer cells. 

Strawberries

Strawberries are a delicious, juicy superfood, packed with nutrients and antioxidants and their benefits are endless. 

Strawberries prevent cataracts – the clouding of the eye – which can lead to blindness. But the high Vitamin C content in strawberries strengthens the cornea and retina of your eyes and protects them from the sun’s harsh UV rays. 

Strawberries are abundant in antioxidants like lutein, zeathancins and ellagic acid, and therefore suppress the growth of cancer cells. 

Antioxidants are scavengers to free radicals and neutralize their negative affect they have on our cells. 

Strawberries are vital to the production of collagen and therefore make you look younger. According to Korean researchers, the high Vitamin C and Ellagic Acid content in strawberries visibly prevent collagen destruction, and thus are natural wrinkle fighters. 

Strawberries reduce oxidative stress, which is beneficial to the heart. Heart disease and strokes are the leading causes of death according to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. But the mighty little strawberry contains an abundance of phytochemicals that counteract the effects of bad cholesterol, meaning they stop plaque buildup in the arteries and thus boost heart health. 

Strawberries protect against chronic inflammation, which can lead to arthritis, heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Strawberries regulate blood pressure and their potassium content acts as a buffer against the negative effects of sodium. In other words, the strawberry is one of the most heart-healthy fruits you can eat. 

Strawberries are great for maintaining a healthy weight. They are low in calories, fat-free, low in sodium, low in sugar and so sweet and yummy. Who can resist them? They make the perfect snack, especially if you are trying to lose weight.
